About
Robert F. Meade, OD
Public speaker, vision consultant, optometric physician, and adjunct professor specializing in topics that involve the human visual system.
“The Vision Professor
evolved from one simple goal: to teach people facts about vision…
…in a way they can understand.”
From the World of Academia…
Dr. Meade has 35 years of clinical experience in primary care optometry, and is in his 22nd year teaching Vision Science at Montclair State University to pre-healthcare students in the Biology program.
He earned a B.S. in Biology from Stockton University and a Doctorate in Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry in 1991 where he graduated with clinical honors. He is a past adjunct professor at Essex County College, where he taught courses in the Vision Care Technology Program.
To the Field of Optometry…
After examining thousands of patients and treating their visual problems, Dr. Bob realized that many people were unaware of how the human visual system works. Children with simple visual problems were misdiagnosed with learning disabilities; elderly patients were confused about cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration; and many patients were concerned about glasses, contact lenses, refractive surgery, and dry eye. The solution? Educate people so they can feel in control of their visual health and well-being.
Combining Education with Entertainment…
When you attend a presentation by Dr. Bob, you will be educated on some of the most complex topics, as they are broken down into simple ideas. You will be entertained as he creates an enjoyable learning environment with humor, passion, and enthusiasm. You will be empowered with important visual concepts instead of being overloaded with confusing jargon. Dr. Meade focuses on storytelling, expression, and body language so that the meeting feels less like a lecture and more like a warm gathering.
So YOUR Audience Has an Experience They Won't Forget!
He spends most of his time speaking on two very important issues: digital eye strain and learning-related vision problems. He is also available to lecture on a career in optometry, dry eye, low vision, refractive surgical correction, the history of contact lenses, and the top 10 most asked questions by patients.
